LujaBetomix history is a history of the two largest Finnish concrete producers which merged in 2014 to strengthen their positions on the Russian market. Before the event the companies were known to Russian consumers as Betomix LO and Lujabeton.
The company had been working on the Russian market since 1993 and was a subsidiary of Rudus Oy (rudus.fi), a Finnish concern with its 100-years history, which at present is the indisputable leader among the concrete producers on the Finnish market.
In 2014 the turnover of Rudus came to more than 300 MEUR. They produced more than 1 mln m³ of concrete.
Since 1999 Rudus has been a part of CRH PLC Group (crh.ie) – an Irish concern operated in 37 countries. The group employs over 90000 people. The company’s shares are listed at the New York Stock Exchange.
The technological level of CRH PLC was formally confirmed by the Certificate of Quality received in 1997 when it demonstrated that all companies of the concern strictly met high technological requirements and standards.
The company has operated on the Russian market since 2007. It is a subsidiary of a Finnish producer – Lujabetoni, one of the leaders of the Finnish concrete industry.
Lujabetoni (http://lujabetoni.fi/) in its turn is a subsidiary of Luja Finnish holding founded in 1953. The holding is one of the strongest players of the construction market in Finland. The company staff comes to more than 2000 employees. In 2014 the company turnover was 450 MEUR, it produced 350 000 m³ of concrete.
The merger of the two largest Finnish concrete producers in order to operate on the Russian market – an unprecedented event for both holdings.
